Half-drilled and pinned, which is more work than drilling through and threading, and is the reason the pearl has no hole showing at the top.
Akoya, 8.5 to 9mm, with the nacre thickness measured rather than assumed. A thin-nacre pearl looks identical for two years and then does not.
