What it does
Rolls cast ingots down to sheet and wire. Everything we make starts as a bar and passes through it, some of it twenty times with an anneal between each pass.
Why keep it
Because it is better. A modern mill is faster and its rollers are ground to a tolerance this one cannot match — and this one has a feel through the handle that tells you when the metal is work-hardening, which no readout does.
