The setting is the argument. Six claws rather than four, because four is one failure away from losing the stone and six is not; and the basket cut away underneath so light enters from below as well as above, which is where the brilliance in a brilliant cut actually comes from.
The stone is D to F colour, VS1 or better, and the certificate in the box is for the stone in the ring rather than for a stone like it. The shank is 1.9mm and can be sized twice more before it needs rebuilding.

Every stone we set is bought as a stone, not as a parcel. It is measured, photographed and weighed in the workshop before it is offered, and those figures are what appear here.
If a stone we have bought turns out not to meet this, it does not go into a Solstice. It goes back.
Claws wear. Yours will need checking about every two years if the ring is worn daily, and that check is free for as long as the house exists.
What we do at a service: examine the claws under magnification, retip anything worn past half, clean ultrasonically, and re-polish the shank. What we do not do is repolish the stone — a diamond that needs repolishing has been damaged, and that is a conversation rather than a service.
