Every engagement starts with two weeks that either of us can walk away from at the end of, paid at the same rate as the rest. We have never had a client walk; we have twice walked ourselves, and said why.
Who does it
The people who pitch are the people who build. There is no delivery team behind the studio you meet, because there is no studio behind the studio you meet.
What you own
Everything, from the first day. Source, design files, research notes, and the reasoning behind the decisions — the last one is what usually goes missing when an agency hands over.
What it costs
We quote a project, not a day rate. If the work turns out smaller than we thought, the invoice is smaller; that has happened four times and we mention it because most studios will not.
